It got here pre-seasoned and prepared to use, and I've used it a dozen instances already; for pancakes, for quesadillas and most recently, for grilled cheese sandwiches. It does take some "getting used to". It may be very heavy for one. And it takes a while to pre-heat, as a consequence of you do not want to warmth it up too fast. I regularly start it out on low heat (around 3 or 4 on my electric range). I pre-heat for about 5 minutes. This manner, the warmth will get evenly allotted. If you begin cooking too soon, sure, it's going to be erratically warmthed. Once you convey it up to warmth, you wish to watch it to make sure it would not get too hot. I depart it on three or 4, nearer to three for pancakes, closer to four for grilled cheese - and it has cooked everything excellently.
