It has a timer that can be programmed for up to three hours. However, if you don't software the timer, the unit will shut off after 2 hours! This is ridiculous especially if you are doing gradual cook dinner like a crock pot where that you could be cook dinnering for longer than three hours and the instruction manual does no longer specify the 2 hour shut off.
The customer service department includes a one man operation by the name of Troy Wilson. You can go away him messages and he's going to no longer return your calls. Even when he did, he didn't bear in mind the previous dialog. He was once not even aware about the 2 hour shut off except I alerted him to it.
The unit is noisy and I would recommend you before the purchase.
